LAS VEGAS, Nevada, June 9, 2026 — Penn & Teller will continue their record-breaking residency at the Rio Hotel and Casino through 2029, the resort announced today. The duo previewed the official announcement Monday night during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Penn & Teller’s Las Vegas story predates the Rio by nearly a decade. Penn Jillette, 71, and Teller, 78, first came to the city in 1993, performing at the Celebrity Room at Bally’s for six years before moving to the Hollywood Theater at the MGM Grand from 1999 to 2000. The Rio residency that followed in 2001 became the anchor of their performing life and of Las Vegas magic history. Now in their 51st year together, they hold the distinction of being the longest-running headliners in Las Vegas history.
“The Rio has been our home base for more than two decades and we’re thrilled to continue entertaining audiences here weekly,” Penn & Teller said in a joint statement. “We’re grateful to our incredible fans from around the world who continue to make this show possible and we look forward to welcoming many more over the next three years.”
Rod Turlan, President and General Manager of Rio Hotel and Casino, said the extension reflects the resort’s ongoing commitment to world-class entertainment. “Penn & Teller are synonymous with Las Vegas entertainment, and we are proud to continue our partnership with them for the next three years,” Turlan said. “Their unparalleled ability to evolve their show and dazzle new audiences while consistently delivering the ‘wow’ factor for which they’re known is why they remain an integral part of Rio’s future.”
The announcement follows a change of ownership control for the Rio completed in April 2026 with Kennedy Lewis Investment Management, a private equity firm, taking majority control of the property from Dreamscape Companies. Turlan took the helm at the Rio when the transaction closed.
Penn & Teller maintain an active schedule beyond the Rio. The duo continue to tour together, with upcoming dates in Cerritos, California; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Vancouver, British Columbia; and Portland, Oregon through the end of 2026. They also are in production on a new season of their long-running CW series Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Apart from Teller, Jillette is heading to the United Kingdom this September alongside Las Vegas comedy-magic star Piff the Magic Dragon for Piff & Pop’s Magic Shoppe, a nine-date tour running September 10 through 21. It marks his first UK dates performing without his longtime partner.
Teller, meanwhile, has an independent pursuit closer to home. He is channeling energy into the Las Vegas arts community as a founding backer of Third Street, a new performing arts complex in development in downtown Las Vegas. The project aims to transform a former cinema complex at 814 South Third Street into a multipurpose creative campus, with performance venues, production studios, and resident arts companies. “The arts are not just a business or a decoration, but an essential infrastructure,” Teller said of the project.
Performances for the pair’s extended residency in the Penn & Teller Theater at the Rio Hotel and Casino run Thursday through Sunday at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at RioLasVegas.com.
