I have always found magic cards and coin tricks delightful and fun. During my time in Chicago, I have attended different magic shows across the city, but I was especially excited to attend Intimo, a new show featuring Luis Carreon at the Chicago Magic Lounge in the Andersonville neighborhood in Chicago.
An intimate space, the Chicago Magic Lounge is really a magical delight. It is set up as a speakeasy, you enter as if through a laundromat before walking to the main cabaret theater, filled with tables and rows of seats. Dimly lit but cozy, it is an inviting atmosphere. The hosts were welcoming, and our server greeted us warmly as first-timers.
Waiting for the show to begin, you have the opportunity to order cocktails and small bites. My guest and I opted for old-fashioned cocktails along with sliders and fries, all of which are delicious. A quick side note: After the show, you can stick around and enjoy another cocktail from the front bar with a side of more magic.
