Stealing Magic Documentary Selected for DC/DOX Film Festival

Andi Gladwin and Matthew Testa film earns Washington DC debut to follow Tribeca premiere

WASHINGTON, May 12, 2026 — Stealing Magic, the documentary following Vanishing Inc. co-founder Andi Gladwin’s international pursuit of organized magic piracy, has been selected for the 2026 DC/DOX Documentary Film Festival, adding a DC premiere to its growing festival run.

The film screens June 12 at the Burke Theatre at the US Navy Memorial in Washington. DC/DOX runs June 11–14, 2026, showcasing 113 films across four days at marquee venues throughout the nation’s capital. Founded in 2022, the festival has established itself as one of the country’s premier documentary showcases — last year’s edition hosted the Oscar winner for Best Documentary Feature for its DC premiere.

The DC/DOX screening will follow the scheduled world premiere of the film earlier in June at the Tribeca Festival. Directed by Matthew Testa and produced by Testa, Ethan Smith, Melanie Miller, Diane Becker, and Randy Pitchford, Stealing Magic features Gladwin and his Vanishing Inc. colleagues Joshua Jay and George Luck in an international investigation into organized theft of magicians’ creative works. Penn & Teller join the film offering perspective on what it takes to originate and protect magic effects.
